apple crisp delight

I’ve been using this recipe for years now and no one even knows the difference between this recipe and store bought apple crisp (that’s one way to get a bunch of compliments!).


Ingredients

  • 4 green apples, peeled and cut into thin slices

  • 2 tbsp maple syrup

  • 1 tbsp lemon juice

  • 1 tsp cinnamon

  • ¼ tsp ground nutmeg

  • 1 cup gluten free oats

  • ¼ cup almond flour

  • 1/4 cup coconut sugar

  • ¼ cup coconut oil, room temperature

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

  2. Mix the peeled apples, maple syrup, lemon juice, cinnamon, and nutmeg together.

  3. In a separate bowl, mix together oats with the almond flour, and coconut sugar. Using a fork, mash the coconut oil into the mixture until it’s well incorporated.

  4. Layer the apples into an 8x8 inch baking dish and sprinkle the crisp topping on the apples.

  5. Bake for 45 minutes or until the crisp is golden brown. Serve by itself or with your favorite vegan ice cream and enjoy!
