Find Gratitude During COVID-19

During times like these, the ability to remain positive and feel good can be quite a struggle. That’s why we should be conscious with reminding ourselves how much we really have to be grateful for.

Raise your hand if you’ve had some trouble staying positive during the last month and a half; I know I have. Feeling stressed and anxious about being confined and limited during a time of uncertainty, is a natural human response. We all wish we had a positive answer to all that is going on in the world right now. We all wish we could connect more with the people around us. We all wish we could do the things a lot of us took for granted, like going out to lunch with friends, going to the beach, going to work every day, going on dates with your loved one, going to the store without fear, the list goes on and on. Sometimes we fall so easily into the habit of becoming consumed in the worry of everyday life (especially right now),  that we don’t realize how much we actually have to be grateful for. So, we just wanted to send a small reminder your way… If there’s ever a time to remind ourselves how much we have to be thankful for, it is NOW!

Do you have a roof over your head? Do you have friends and family to support you during this difficult time? Do your kitchen cabinets have food on the shelves? Do you have running water and a warm bed to sleep in at night? These are all amazing and positive things to be grateful for because not everyone can say the same. We’ve compiled a list of a few ways to show your gratitude to help you push through and spread some positivity.

4 Ways to Show Gratitude Everyday

  1. Create a gratitude journal and write 5 things you are grateful for every night. No matter how bad your day or week was, think of 5 things that you are grateful for and couldn’t live without. This will help you end your day on a positive note.

  2. Reach out to your loved ones, your number one supporters and thank them for all that they do.

  3. Speak words of gratitude into existence. For example, take a deep breath and say, “I am thankful to be healthy. I am thankful for my friends and family. I am thankful for the new hobby I have picked up and I am really good at it. I am thankful for the books that keep me occupied. I am thankful for the tub of ice cream I have waiting for me in my freezer.” It can be absolutely anything, you just need to speak it into the world.

  4. Keep a running list on your phone. Anytime you feel grateful for something, enter it into your notes. Review this list every day and continue to add to it. You’ll be surprised at how much this list can grow.

  • Spring time

  • Great reads

  • Food on our shelves

Remember that life is beautiful and there are so many good vibes we can send out into the world, so much positivity that we can spread, and support that we can offer others. Let’s stick together and send out some love into the world, we all need it! So, what are you grateful for?
